Our Story

We're Tyler and Courtney Birk. As a firefighter and a public-school teacher, we were looking for a fun way to earn some extra money. I've always loved coffee and had gotten into roasting my own beans on my smoker with a hand spun metal basket. We decided to make the leap and get a real roaster, build a commercial kitchen in our house, get it inspected by the state, and jump headlong into the coffee roasting business. Our goal is to make great coffee, at a reasonable price, and have a great time doing it!  We both grew up in Lee's Summit and love this community and are grateful to be a part of the downtown Lee's Summit Farmer's market.
